Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of Cargo Handling Operations
Oversee all cargo handling activities including acceptance, storage, build-up, breakdown, and dispatch.
Ensure compliance with airline, airport, and regulatory authority guidelines (e.g. DGCA, BCAS, IATA).
Monitor proper handling of general, special, and dangerous goods.
Staff Management
Supervise cargo agents, warehouse workers, and ground handling staff.
Ensure team members are trained, briefed, and assigned tasks appropriately.
Enforce safety procedures and operational discipline among staff.
Documentation and Compliance
Verify and approve air waybills (AWBs), cargo manifests, and customs documentation.
Ensure timely and accurate data entry into cargo management systems.
Ensure compliance with security protocols, weight restrictions, and customs regulations.
Coordination & Communication
Liaise with airline representatives, freight forwarders, customs officials, and transport vendors.
Coordinate with warehouse and ramp teams to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Resolve operational issues and escalate when necessary.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Monitor inventory levels, space utilization, and proper storage of cargo.
Ensure proper segregation of perishable, fragile, and restricted goods.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain standards.
Reporting & Record keeping
Maintain shift logs, incident reports, and daily operational summaries.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like turnaround time, load factors, and damage reports.
Recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and safety.
Health & Safety
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security standards at all times.
Conduct safety briefings and contribute to accident prevention measures.
