A Cashier is a retail professional who scans items to ensure prices are correct. Need to manage cash for our dealership
Duties:
- Managing transactions with customers using cash registers
- Scanning goods and ensuring pricing is accurate
- Collecting payments whether in cash or credit
Key Responsibilities:
Billing and Transaction Management:

Operate the cash register or POS system to process sales and returns accurately.

Scan products, tally purchases, and inform customers of the final amount due.

Accept payments via cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, wallets, or other approved methods.

Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges in accordance with store policies.
Customer Service:
-
Greet customers courteously and assist them during the checkout process.

Address customer queries or complaints related to billing, offers, or pricing.

Maintain a pleasant and helpful attitude even during peak hours.

Ensure customers leave with a positive impression of the store or establishment.
Cash Handling and Reporting:
-
Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure balances match.

Safely handle and deposit cash as per company procedures.

Prepare daily cash summary reports and reconcile discrepancies with management.

Report any suspicious transactions, counterfeit currency, or payment issues immediately.
Inventory and Stock Coordination:

Alert the store or floor staff about out-of-stock items during billing.

Support product tagging, barcoding, and price verification when required.

Inform the supervisor of any scanning or pricing errors noticed during checkout.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:

Keep the billing area clean, organized, and free of clutter.

Sanitize the billing counter and POS devices regularly.

Ensure adequate availability of receipt paper, packaging materials, and promotional leaflets.
Support for Sales and Promotions:

Inform customers about ongoing offers, combo deals, loyalty programs, or discounts.

Upsell or cross-sell products when appropriate and as guided by the supervisor.

Collect and update customer contact information for future promotions or feedback.
