Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Transactions:

Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
Scan items, ensure pricing is accurate, and apply discounts or promotional offers.
Handle cash, credit/debit card, UPI, or wallet transactions.
Issue receipts, refunds, or change as necessary.
Ensure a quick and efficient checkout process.

2. Cash Register and Billing Management:

Operate cash registers, POS terminals, barcode scanners, and other payment systems.
Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of shifts.
Maintain cash drawers with appropriate change levels.
Reconcile total sales and payments at the end of each shift.

3. Customer Service and Interaction:

Respond to customer inquiries politely and professionally.
Handle complaints or issues related to billing or payments promptly.
Guide customers regarding store layout, product location, or ongoing offers.
Promote upselling or add-on sales when appropriate.

4. Compliance and Accuracy:

Ensure all items are scanned and billed accurately.
Follow company policies regarding discounts, return/exchange, and receipt handling.
Prevent billing errors, fraud, or misuse of the cash register.

5. Cleanliness and Organization:

Keep the billing counter and cash area clean, organized, and clutter-free.
Ensure packaging materials (bags, bills, tags) are stocked and used properly.
Report any technical issues with POS machines or systems promptly.

6. Reporting and Coordination:

Submit daily cash and sales reports to the accounts or store manager.
Inform supervisors of any discrepancies or issues in transactions.
Collaborate with floor staff and managers to improve the checkout experience.
