Job Description
Designation: Category Analysis
Responsibilities include:
1. Work with internal teams of category management to coordinate efforts with merchandising departments and business partners
2. Handle daily responsibilities include assisting in negotiations with vendors, balancing and optimizing product selection, auditing inventory systems and distribution policies, and helping minimize costs
3. Work directly with vendor partners, promotional teams, and sales teams to execute projects such as displays and advertisements
4. Determine inventory flow plans for product distribution, seasonal inventory requirements, and specific location requirements after planning and executing these strategies, the category analyst is required to analyze and evaluate the strengths and shortcomings of each initiative
5. Maintain category line review calendar and lead tracking status of deliverables between cross-functional teams and communicate calendar changes, risks and opportunities accordingly
6. Conduct market research and assess competitors
7. Analyze business and market trends to recommend new strategies for increased sales
8. Develop all documentation related to category management and sales activities and conduct a post-promotion investigation to study the marketing impact on category and brand
9. Assist in preparing customized reports for management when needed
