
CCTV Engineer
Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled CCTV Engineer to join our team, specializing in ELV (Extra Low Voltage) and security systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV, access control, fire and intrusion alarms, BMS (Building Management Systems), PA (Public Address) systems, structured cabling, fiber optics splicing, and networking. This role involves both field and office work, with significant responsibility for delivering high-quality installations and maintenance services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CCTV & Access Control Systems:

CCTV Installation: Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems, and video surveillance equipment.

System Integration: Integrate CCTV systems with other security systems (e.g., access control, fire alarms) for a seamless security solution.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of CCTV systems, including cameras, recording devices, and networking components.
2. Fire & Intrusion Alarm Systems:

Alarm Installation: Install and configure fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, intrusion alarms, and related safety systems.

Testing & Calibration: Test alarm systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with alarm systems, ensuring systems are fully operational.
3. BMS (Building Management System) & PA Systems:

BMS Integration: Install and support building management systems (BMS) that control environmental systems such as HVAC, lighting, and security.

PA System Setup: Install, configure, and maintain PA (Public Address) systems for large buildings or premises.

System Calibration: Perform calibration and ensure optimal performance of both BMS and PA systems.
4. Structured Cabling & Networking:

Structured Cabling: Install and maintain structured cabling systems for data, voice, and video transmission, ensuring proper wiring and compliance with safety standards.

Patch Panel Punching & Rack Installation: Configure patch panels, perform punch-downs, and install network racks for network and data connections.

Fiber Optics Splicing: Perform fiber optics splicing and ensure proper installation of fiber optic cables for high-speed data transmission.

Network Configuration: Assist with the installation and configuration of networking equipment such as routers, switches, and wireless access points (A/P).
5. Pole & Equipment Installation:

Pole Installation: Install poles for mounting CCTV cameras, access control devices, and other security systems.

Equipment Mounting: Ensure all equipment, including cameras and sensors, are securely mounted and positioned for optimal performance.
6. System Testing & Commissioning:

System Testing: Conduct thorough system testing after installation to ensure all components are functioning correctly.

Commissioning: Hand over the fully functional system to the client, ensuring all documentation, training, and user manuals are provided.
7. Customer Support & Documentation:

Customer Training: Provide training to customers on system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, service reports, and customer feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Qualifications:
-
Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications in security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control, fire alarms) are a plus.

Skills:

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of CCTV systems, access control, fire/intrusion alarms, BMS, PA systems, and networking.

Hands-on Experience: Experience with structured cabling, rack installation, fiber optic splicing, and networking hardware.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for security and low-voltage systems.

Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in installations and system configuration to ensure functionality and safety.

Customer Interaction: Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, understanding their requirements, and offering technical solutions.

Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple installations and service requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Experience:

1-2 years of experience in CCTV installation and service, security systems, or ELV systems (preferred).

Hands-on experience with structured cabling, fiber optics, rack mounting, and networking.

Previous work in fire alarm systems and access control systems is an advantage.

Valid Driving License: Must possess a valid driver’s license to travel to client locations.

Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment during installations.

Languages: Proficiency in local language.
