Job Description

The CCTV Technician will work closely with security and IT teams to ensure the proper functioning of CCTV systems. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining video surveillance systems, conducting regular inspections, and troubleshooting technical issues. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of working in various environments.

Position Overview:

A CCTV Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV surveillance systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires expertise in handling security cameras, networking equipment, and related hardware to ensure optimal security and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Configuration:

Install CCTV cameras, DVRs/NVRs, IP cameras, and surveillance systems.
Configure cameras, power supplies, and network connections for optimal performance.
Mount cameras and ensure proper coverage with minimal blind spots.

2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

Regularly inspect and maintain CCTV systems, cabling, and power supply units.
Diagnose and fix signal loss, camera malfunctions, and connectivity issues.
Upgrade firmware and ensure all components are working efficiently.

3. Networking & Security Integration:

Configure remote access, IP-based surveillance, and cloud storage solutions.
Integrate CCTV systems with alarms, access control systems, and security software.
Ensure network security to prevent unauthorized access to surveillance feeds.

4. Customer Support & Training:

Provide basic training to clients on operating the CCTV system.
Respond to customer service requests for troubleshooting and repairs.
Document installation and maintenance activities for future reference.

5. Compliance & Safety Standards:

Ensure installations comply with local security and electrical regulations.
Follow safety procedures when handling electrical components and working at heights.
