CCTV Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CCTV Technician to install, maintain, and repair CCTV systems. The successful candidate will have a technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Install and commission CCTV systems, ensuring they are configured and functioning correctly. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CCTV systems, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation of CCTV Systems:

Install CCTV cameras, digital video recorders (DVRs), network video recorders (NVRs), monitors, and other related equipment at client sites.

Plan and lay out camera positions to ensure maximum coverage and security effectiveness based on client requirements.

Perform wiring, cabling, and mounting of cameras, power supplies, and other hardware components, ensuring neat and safe installation.

Configure camera angles, focus, and zoom settings to optimize image quality.

System Setup and Configuration:

Set up and configure video management software, including remote viewing and mobile app access for clients.

Network CCTV systems, integrating them with client IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls for internet connectivity and remote access.

Program and customize recording schedules, motion detection zones, alerts, and storage settings according to client preferences.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure CCTV systems operate reliably and without interruption.

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to hardware malfunctions, software errors, or connectivity problems.

Repair or replace defective components such as cameras, cables, power supplies, or storage devices promptly to minimize downtime.

Update firmware and software as necessary to keep systems secure and functional.

Customer Support and Training:

Provide technical support to clients, answering questions about system operation and resolving usage difficulties.

Train clients and end-users on how to operate CCTV equipment and software, including remote access features and alarm handling.

Prepare clear documentation and user manuals tailored to client systems.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all installations comply with local regulations, safety standards, and privacy laws concerning surveillance.

Adhere to company policies regarding workplace safety and the handling of electrical equipment.

Maintain clean and organized work areas at all times.

Reporting and Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of installations, maintenance visits, repairs, and client interactions.

Report equipment failures and recommend upgrades or replacements when systems become obsolete.

Provide feedback to the sales and engineering teams on product performance and client needs.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with project managers, sales personnel, and other technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new products, industry trends, and best practices.
