Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and responsible CCTV Technician to install, maintain, and repair surveillance systems at residential, commercial, and industrial sites. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with CCTV installation, cabling, DVR/NVR configuration, IP camera setup, and basic networking.
This is a field-based role that requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions independently or as part of a team. A CCTV Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of premises by setting up effective video surveillance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Setup:

Install CCTV systems including analog and IP cameras, DVRs/NVRs, monitors, and related accessories.

Perform wiring, conduit installation, and cable routing as per site requirements.

Mount cameras in proper locations for optimal coverage, both indoors and outdoors.

Configure camera angles, focus, resolution, and motion detection zones as needed.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Inspect and service CCTV equipment to ensure proper operation.

Identify and resolve issues such as blurry footage, connectivity loss, or hardware failure.

Replace or repair faulty cameras, connectors, switches, or cabling.

Clean lenses, check power supply units, and verify system recordings.
3. Networking and Configuration:

Set up IP cameras with static or dynamic IP addresses.

Connect DVR/NVR systems to LAN and configure remote viewing access (e.g., mobile app, PC software).

Set up port forwarding and ensure network connectivity through routers and modems.

Maintain system security by setting passwords and user access rights.
4. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain records of installations, services performed, system diagrams, and settings.

Prepare service reports and update logs for future reference or audits.

Share installation photos and details with supervisors or clients for approval.
5. Client Support and Communication:

Educate clients on system usage, playback, backup, and basic troubleshooting.

Provide post-installation support and attend service calls on time.

Maintain professional behavior and build trust with clients through reliable service.
6. Safety and Compliance:

Follow electrical safety protocols during installation and maintenance work.

Use ladders, tools, and power equipment safely and responsibly.

Ensure work complies with applicable building codes and standards.
