Qualification : Ph. D. in any Discipline, Or, M.Sc.(Ag) in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breeding/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Plant Physiology/Life Science with 4 years/5 years of bachelor's degree Or, Post graduate degree in basic Science with 3 years Bachelor's degree and 2 years Master's degree with NET qualification. Desirable: Research experience in rice production system with special emphasis on water management.

Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) is one of the Institutes of the ICAR under the Division of Crop Sciences. The Institute has two research stations- Central Rainfed Upland Rice Research Station (CRURRS), Hazaribagh, in Jharkhand, and the Regional Rainfed Lowland Rice Research Station (RRLRRS), Gerua, in Assam. These research stations were established to tackle the problems of rainfed uplands, and flood prone rainfed lowlands, respectively.
