Assistant Professor Economics Job position in Centre For Development Studies (CDS)
Areas of specialization: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics and Industrial Organisation.
Qualification: PhD in Economics (awarded or submitted) with a good academic record and (preferably) at least one or two high quality publications
Scale of Pay : Rs.15600-39100 (PB III) with AGP Rs. 6000
Age Limit: Below 35 years as on 15.3.2016.

The Centre is, perhaps, one of the first educational institutions in the country to follow a democratically decentralised governing structure ensuring complete transparency in administrative and academic matters in letter and spirit. The Centre is managed by a Governing Body consisting of eminent academicians, planners as well as administrators. The present Chairman of the Governing Body is Dr. Bimal Jalan. The current Director is Professor Amit Shovon Ray. The GB has delegated several of its powers to sub-committees to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Centre. Financing Research : The Centre draws its financial support mainly from the Government of Kerala and the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The Reserve Bank of India and the Planning Commission has instituted endowment units for research in selected areas at CDS. The Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs has set up a migration unit to study issues relating to international migration from India
