Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).

Provide insightful financial analysis to support management decision-making, including performance reviews, profitability analysis, and financial forecasting.

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Analyze the company’s financial position and advise management on cost control, revenue maximization, and performance improvement.
2. Taxation and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations, including corporate tax, GST, VAT, and other relevant taxes.

Prepare and file tax returns, including annual corporate taxes, VAT/GST returns, and other required documents, ensuring timely submission.

Provide expert advice on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize the company’s financial position.

Assist with tax audits, addressing any issues or discrepancies raised by tax authorities.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure that the company remains compliant with evolving tax requirements.
3. Internal and External Audits:

Lead internal and external audits, ensuring the company’s financial activities are accurately recorded and in compliance with regulations.

Work closely with auditors to prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documents, and resolve any audit findings.

Ensure the implementation of internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies and fraud, while maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial reporting systems.
4. Budgeting and Financial Planning:

Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, aligning financial goals with company objectives.

Conduct regular variance analysis, comparing actual financial results against the budget and providing insights on deviations.

Advise management on cost control measures, and recommend strategies for improving financial efficiency and profitability.

Ensure proper allocation of resources and monitor the company’s expenditure to ensure it stays within the approved budget.
5. Management Reporting:

Prepare detailed management reports on the financial health of the organization, including key financial ratios, trends, and projections.

Present financial results to the executive management team, assisting in strategic decision-making and offering guidance on financial matters.

Monitor key financial metrics and provide insights into profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
6. Financial Strategy and Risk Management:

Provide strategic input for the company’s financial planning, including long-term investment planning, risk management, and capital structure.

Identify potential financial risks and propose strategies to mitigate these risks (e.g., currency, interest rate, or credit risk).

Oversee cash flow management, ensuring there are sufficient funds available for operations and capital expenditures.
7. Leadership and Team Management:

Lead and mentor a team of junior accountants and finance professionals, ensuring the smooth functioning of the finance department.

Provide training and development opportunities to staff, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest accounting standards and tax regulations.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations, HR) to support cross-functional financial requirements and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
8. Financial System Implementation and Optimization:

Oversee the implementation and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.

Ensure that the accounting system is updated regularly, secure, and able to generate accurate financial data.

Recommend process improvements to enhance financial data collection, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
