- We are looking for hotel management graduates to work as chef for a new Turkish cafe in Kolkata, which will revolutionize the Middle Eastern fast food industry in India.
- Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
- Cook food in a timely manner and ensure appealing plate presentation
- Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion
- Follow the budget established by the restaurant manager and monitor food stocks to place orders accordingly
- Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests to ensure maximum customer satisfaction (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
- Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
- Adapt to the changing customer palate and industry competition by experimenting with new recipes and ingredients
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
- Minimum qualification – Bachelor’s in Hotel Management (BHM) or similar culinary school diploma
- Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook, freshers can also apply
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and shawarma machine, waffle machine)
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks
- Excellent time management abilities
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
