Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Cooking & Menu Execution
-
Independently prepare a wide range of dishes from South Indian cuisine (like idli, dosa, vada, sambar, rasam, upma, pongal, meals, chutneys, etc.) and North Indian cuisine (like roti, paratha, dal, paneer dishes, curries, biryani, sabzis, etc.).

Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation across all servings.

Plan, prep, and cook meals as per the daily menu or customized orders.
2. Kitchen Operations & Food Preparation

Manage daily kitchen activities including food preparation, cooking, and cleaning schedules.

Handle kitchen inventory, food ordering, and raw material usage efficiently.

Maintain proper stock of spices, vegetables, grains, and dairy required for Indian cuisine.

Ensure zero wastage through proper food storage, portion control, and batch cooking.
3. Team Coordination

Coordinate with kitchen helpers and junior cooks to ensure smooth service during peak hours.

Train support staff in basic cooking, hygiene, and cleaning practices.

Ensure discipline and cooperation within the kitchen team.
4. Hygiene, Safety & Cleanliness

Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness as per FSSAI norms.

Oversee regular cleaning of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workspace.

Ensure proper waste disposal, pest control practices, and sanitization.
5. Menu Development (Optional)

Suggest new dishes or seasonal specials for the menu, based on regional food trends.

Modify recipes or create custom combinations to suit customer feedback and dietary needs.
