Job Description: Process Control Engineer
The role of the Controls engineers in Engineering is to work as a member of the team on the preparation of UOP’s Schedule A, the basic design package, in support of the licensing of UOP technology that provide customized technology design packages to our customers. In addition to the new and revamp Schedule A preparation, the IE also takes part in other work, as required.

Qualification: BE Degree in Chemical Engineering

In addition to the new and revamp Schedule A preparation, the IE also takes part in other work, as required.
Unique aspects of the job include: -
- Preparation of Instrument datasheet for control valves, flow elements, analyzers, pressure, temperature and misc. instruments.
- Preparation of Cause & Effect matrix, logic diagrams, alarm summary, basic specifications for control systems etc. and review of SIL ratings, as part of UOP Sch. A.
- Participation in internal design review meetings for finalizing the hydraulics, selection of appropriate instrumentation, developing and optimizing process schemes and safety interlocks.
- Preparation of control narratives as per the developed process scheme.
- Review of basic design inputs from customer for completeness and consistency.
- Review of engineering design data for completeness, accuracy and consistency prior to completion of specification release.
- Preparation of customized and client-specific instrument specifications for various process units, as required for the UOP’s Schedule A, basic design package.
- Participation in customer review meeting to answer customer queries regarding UOP’s design philosophy, control schemes and safety aspects.
- Delivering required outputs to meet established work-plan milestones and quality assurance plan.
- Close coordination with other engineering disciplines, which will include process, project, mechanical, piping, rotating equipment, metallurgy and drafting.
- Close coordination with other global engineering offices and specialists on regular basis. Working as a part of virtual-teams, consists of team-members spread across the globe.
