Qualification : PhD degree in Engineering or Science with first class in the preceding degree from a recognized Institute/University of repute with excellent academic record OR MBA with 1st Class after Bachelors/Masters in Engineering with leadership experience in industry. The criteria may be relaxed at the discretion of the shortlisting committee of the institute for exceptional candidates having excellent academic records and more than 20 years of experience at senior levels of management (General Manager / CTO or equivalent).

Relevant Experience :  (i) At least 10 years’ of experience in an industry / R&D / Technical Institution / Entrepreneurship, including at least 3 years of relevant experience in level 13 of the 7th pay matrix or equivalent in a reputed Industry / R&D/ Technical Institution/ Entrepreneurship. (ii) Excellent track record of having formulated and executed large projects, possibly incubated new companies, translated R&D into commercial gains; (iii) Excellent proficiency in English speaking and writing. Job Profile: The primary role of the CTO will be to grow the inflow of research funds into the institute by acting as the liaison between the faculty of various areas of expertise and industry (or other funding agencies). The CTO will be expected to cultivate a broad understanding of the research capability of the institute and use that knowledge to proactively reach out to the industry and ministries to catalyse the creation of large projects, centres of excellence around pockets of research competence, and the creation of technology and intellectual property.
