Job Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Civil Engineering Intern to join our construction and infrastructure projects team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for fresh Civil Engineering graduates or diploma holders to gain hands-on experience in project execution, site supervision, structural inspections, and quality monitoring.
The role is designed to help candidates develop practical skills, understand industry standards, and work alongside experienced engineers on real-time construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Monitoring
-
Assist site engineers in supervising construction activities at project locations.

Monitor day-to-day progress and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.

Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and quality control measures at the site.
-
Report site-related issues, delays, and challenges to the project engineer.
2. Project Planning & Coordination
-
Support senior engineers in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
-
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for timely material delivery.
-
Assist in preparing work permits, progress reports, and documentation for site activities.

Ensure smooth coordination between design, procurement, and execution teams.
3. Drawing Interpretation & Measurement
-
Study and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
-
Take on-site measurements and assist in quantity surveying.
-
Verify and cross-check dimensions to ensure construction accuracy.
-
Support in preparing BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and material estimation.
4. Quality Assurance & Material Testing
-
Assist in material inspection and ensure they meet project specifications.
-
Conduct basic quality tests for construction materials like cement, sand, aggregates, and concrete.

Observe NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) processes and other quality checks.

Document inspection findings and submit reports to the quality team.
5. Learning & Skill Development
-
Get exposure to construction techniques, project management tools, and safety protocols.

Learn to handle engineering instruments like Total Station, Auto Level, Vernier Caliper, and Theodolite.

Understand how contracts, tenders, and site billing processes work.
-
Develop professional skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.
Required Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills
-
Basic knowledge of civil engineering concepts like structural design, surveying, and construction methods.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, MS Project, or similar software (training will be provided if needed).

Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Knowledge of building codes and safety standards is an added advantage.
