Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
-
Study project drawings, designs, and specifications thoroughly before execution.

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules in coordination with project managers.

Ensure that construction activities are executed as per the approved design and project plans.

Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues on-site.
-
Assist in project estimations, resource allocation, and scheduling.
2. Site Supervision & Monitoring
-
Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.

Assign tasks to site supervisors, foremen, and workers while monitoring productivity.
-
Ensure that construction materials and equipment are used effectively to avoid wastage.
-
Inspect completed work regularly to verify quality and adherence to specifications.

Manage manpower and subcontractors to maintain workflow and avoid project delays.
3. Quality Control & Compliance
-
Ensure all work meets IS codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
-
Conduct quality checks on construction materials, equipment, and workmanship.
-
Coordinate with the quality control (QC) team for testing materials like concrete, steel, and soil.
-
Maintain proper documentation of quality inspection reports and compliance certificates.
4. Material & Resource Management
-
Check material requirements for ongoing and upcoming site activities.
-
Ensure timely procurement and delivery of construction materials.
-
Maintain proper stock levels and avoid material shortages or excess wastage.
-
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
-
Implement workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
-
Conduct safety briefings and training for workers and subcontractors.
-
Ensure proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
-
Report any accidents, hazards, or unsafe practices immediately to the project manager.
6. Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain daily progress reports, work checklists, and site logs.
-
Record material usage, equipment deployment, and manpower allocation accurately.
-
Prepare project status updates and submit reports to senior management regularly.
-
Ensure proper documentation of drawings, permits, and client approvals.
7. Coordination with Stakeholders
-
Communicate effectively with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and project managers.
-
Coordinate with government authorities for permits, inspections, and regulatory approvals.
-
Liaise with clients and provide updates on project status and timelines.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
-
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction techniques, and materials.
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, MS Project, and other design & planning tools.
-
Understanding of surveying, leveling, and structural drawings.
-
Familiarity with quality control tests for concrete, steel, and soil.
-
Knowledge of construction contracts, BOQs, and cost estimations.
