Job Description: Civil Site Engineer

Experience Level: 6+ months

Work Location: Bangalore

Joining: Immediate

Job Summary:

Making calculations about loads and stresses, selecting appropriate construction materials, providing technical advice obtaining planning and/or building regulations approval, liaising with relevant professional staff such as architects monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors, administering contracts, managing projects, inspecting properties to check conditions/foundations. Strong in Structural design. Languages: Kannada, Telugu (Fluent) and Hindi/ English.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision and Execution

Oversee day-to-day operations at the construction site to ensure smooth and timely execution of civil works.
Execute structural and finishing works as per approved designs, drawings, and specifications.
Supervise and monitor subcontractors, laborers, and construction teams to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Ensure proper usage of materials, tools, and equipment on-site to avoid wastage and delays.

2. Technical Management

Read and interpret construction drawings (architectural, structural, MEP) and provide technical guidance to the site team.
Maintain layout accuracy for foundations, columns, slabs, beams, and other structural elements.
Coordinate with consultants and architects for design clarifications or discrepancies.
Check alignment, levels, formwork, steel placement, and concreting quality as per standards.

3. Quality Control

Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections during and after construction activities.
Maintain checklists and conduct regular audits of reinforcement, concrete mix, curing, shuttering, plastering, and other work components.
Raise and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where deviations from quality standards are found.
Ensure proper finishing, cleanliness, and defect-free construction delivery.

4. Material and Resource Planning

Plan and manage the timely availability of construction materials and tools.
Raise requisitions for materials in advance to avoid work stoppages.
Verify the quality and quantity of materials received at the site.
Maintain inventory and ensure minimal wastage.

5. Coordination and Communication

Liaise with the Project Manager, Client Representatives, and Design Teams for work planning and issue resolution.
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, electricians, plumbers, and other civil crew.
Conduct daily briefings to assign tasks and track progress.
Attend site meetings, prepare progress reports, and highlight challenges or delays.

6. Safety and Compliance

Ensure safety regulations are strictly followed at the site.
Conduct site safety inductions for labor and staff.
Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to reduce risks.
Comply with all statutory regulations related to labor laws, environmental practices, and health & safety norms.

7. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain daily work reports (DPR), labor reports, and progress records.
Keep detailed logs of concrete pours, inspections, test results, and handovers.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly progress reports to the Project Manager or senior management.
Maintain site photos and documentation for audits and client reference.
