Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision and Execution:
-
Supervise day-to-day site operations to ensure that construction activities are executed as per the approved drawings, specifications, and timelines.
-
Monitor the work of contractors, subcontractors, and laborers on-site.
-
Check levels, alignment, dimensions, and layouts before and during execution.
-
Ensure work is carried out with the proper use of materials and techniques.
2. Planning and Scheduling:
-
Prepare daily and weekly work schedules and ensure their implementation on the site.
-
Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of materials.
-
Track project progress and report deviations or delays to the Project Manager.
-
Assist in manpower planning and allocation based on project priorities.
3. Quality Assurance and Control:
-
Ensure that construction work meets the required quality standards and engineering specifications.
-
Conduct regular quality checks and inspections for concrete, steelwork, masonry, waterproofing, and finishing.
-
Identify non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
-
Maintain records of material tests, cube tests, and other quality documentation.
4. Safety and Compliance:
-
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with site safety regulations.
-
Conduct tool-box talks and ensure workers use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
-
Report accidents or safety violations immediately and suggest preventive measures.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
5. Technical Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain site records including daily progress reports (DPR), labor deployment, site instructions, and material consumption logs.
-
Update project logs, as-built drawings, and site photos regularly.
-
Prepare and submit reports on work completed, issues faced, and resource requirements.
-
Coordinate with surveyors, design teams, and other engineering departments.
6. Coordination with Stakeholders:
-
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for smooth execution.
-
Liaise with government bodies or municipal authorities for necessary site inspections and approvals.
-
Attend project meetings and provide updates on site progress and issues.
-
Facilitate communication between site staff and head office or client teams.
