Job Description
Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and dynamic Cloud Engineer to join our IT team. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services that support the organization’s applications and data needs. You will work closely with software developers, system administrators, and network engineers to build scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing technologies, infrastructure as code, and cloud security practices. You should be comfortable working with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and have experience automating deployments, monitoring cloud resources, and troubleshooting complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Infrastructure Design and Deployment:

Design, build, and deploy scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure to meet business requirements.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.

Collaborate with development teams to optimize cloud architectures for application performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

Set up and manage virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and security groups within the cloud environment.
2. Cloud Operations and Maintenance:

Monitor cloud infrastructure health and performance using tools such as CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Stackdriver.

Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues in cloud environments promptly.

Manage cloud resource allocation and usage to optimize cost and efficiency.

Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies to ensure business continuity.
3. Security and Compliance:

Ensure cloud infrastructure complies with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Configure and maintain identity and access management (IAM) roles and policies.

Implement network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, encryption, and security groups.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing risks proactively.
4. Automation and CI/CD Integration:

Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines integrating cloud infrastructure and application code using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline release cycles and ensure reliable software delivery.

Use scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
5. Documentation and Collaboration:

Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud architectures, configurations, processes, and best practices.

Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, network engineers, and security specialists to deliver integrated solutions.

Provide technical support and training to IT staff and end-users regarding cloud technologies and tools.
6. Research and Innovation:

Stay updated on the latest cloud computing trends, tools, and best practices.

Evaluate new cloud services and technologies for potential adoption to improve the organization’s IT capabilities.
