Job Description
ROLE: CNC AND VMC OPERATOR
REQUIREMENTS:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF CNC AND VMC
FRESHER & EXPERIENCED BOTH ARE WELCOME
ROTATIONAL SHIFT BASE WORK (6 days working) OT ALLOWANCE GIVEN
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup and Operation
-
Prepare CNC and VMC machines for production runs by installing fixtures, tools, and workpieces as per job specifications.

Load programs into the CNC/VMC machines, or write/modify programs using G-code and CAM software.

Select proper cutting tools and tooling parameters (speed, feed, coolant) based on material and part design.

Align and calibrate machines to ensure precision machining and minimize errors.
2. Production and Quality Control
-
Operate CNC and VMC machines to fabricate metal or plastic parts according to engineering drawings and blueprints.

Monitor machining processes continuously and make adjustments to maintain quality and optimize cycle time.

Conduct in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM machines.

Identify and report any deviations or defects immediately to supervisors.

Maintain detailed production records, including machine setup, cutting parameters, and inspection results.
3. Program Development and Troubleshooting
-
Assist in creating and editing CNC programs using CAM software and manual G-code editing.

Troubleshoot machine errors, tool wear, or program faults and take corrective action to prevent production delays.

Collaborate with engineers and programmers to improve machining strategies and optimize tool paths.

Perform trial runs and sample inspections to validate new or revised programs.
4. Maintenance and Safety
-
Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of CNC and VMC machines.

Replace worn or damaged tools, fixtures, and components to ensure safe and efficient machine operation.

Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe handling of materials.

Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to 5S principles.
5. Continuous Improvement
-
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge about CNC/VMC technologies.

Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Stay updated on industry best practices, machine upgrades, and software improvements.
