Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation:
-
Operate CNC and VMC machines for turning, milling, drilling, and cutting metal or plastic components as per job specifications.

Load raw materials (metal rods, plates, etc.) into the machine, clamp workpieces, and set tool paths.
-
Run production batches and monitor machining parameters (speed, feed rate, coolant levels).
2. Program Handling & Tooling:
-
Interpret and work from G-code programs, NC programs, and engineering drawings.
-
Input or modify minor machine programs on the controller (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.).
-
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, holders, collets, and fixtures.
3. Quality Assurance:
-
Measure and inspect machined parts using precision instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
-
Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawings or specifications.

Perform in-process quality checks and first article inspection (FAI) to ensure consistency.
4. Machine Maintenance:
-
Perform basic preventive maintenance, such as cleaning, oiling, and replacing worn tools or inserts.
-
Identify and report machine issues to the maintenance or engineering team.
-
Keep machines, workstations, and tools clean and in good working order.
5. Production Documentation:
-
Record daily production output, tool changes, rejections, and downtime in logbooks or digital formats.

Assist in maintaining production documentation, inspection records, and shift handovers.
-
Ensure compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and safety standards.
6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
-
Coordinate with team leads, quality inspectors, and programmers for smooth operations.
-
Provide input on cycle time optimization, tool life improvement, and scrap reduction.
-
Participate in 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and other manufacturing excellence programs.
