Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
-
Operate CNC lathe machines to perform turning operations on automotive components such as shafts, hubs, pins, and bushings.

Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using hand tools or hoists as required.
-
Monitor machine operations closely and make necessary adjustments to controls to maintain part accuracy.
Setup & Calibration:
-
Assist in setting up CNC lathes by installing cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and adjusting tool offsets.

Interpret basic mechanical drawings and follow work instructions to set machine parameters correctly.

Perform trial runs and inspect first-off pieces to verify dimensional accuracy using measuring tools.
Production & Labour Tasks:
-
Perform manual labor associated with component handling, loading, cleaning, and stacking.

Complete assigned tasks such as deburring, polishing, or washing of machined parts.

Adhere to shift schedules, meet hourly/daily production targets, and minimize downtime.
Inspection & Quality Control:
-
Conduct in-process and final part inspections using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other basic instruments.

Identify and report non-conforming parts or abnormal machine behavior to the supervisor immediately.

Maintain documentation related to production counts, rejections, and inspection results.
Maintenance & Safety:
-
Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of machines (e.g., lubrication, chip removal).
-
Follow all plant safety rules, wear required PPE (personal protective equipment), and maintain a clean work area.

Report safety hazards or incidents promptly to ensure a safe working environment.
