Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation and Setup
-
Set up CNC machines (lathes, mills, routers, or grinders) by installing and aligning tools, attachments, fixtures, and materials.

Load raw materials onto machines and input job specifications and programs as per technical drawings or work orders.

Operate machines to carry out production tasks, including precision cutting, shaping, drilling, or milling operations.

Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions, defects, or deviations from design specifications.
2. Quality Control and Inspection
-
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate machining.

Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with dimensional tolerances.

Conduct first-article inspections and in-process checks to maintain quality standards.

Record production results and report any quality issues or discrepancies to the supervisor.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement.

Identify and report equipment malfunctions, mechanical issues, or software errors to maintenance or engineering teams.

Help troubleshoot problems with programs or machine settings to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Keep machine tools and work areas clean and organized, following 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
4. Safety and Compliance

Follow all company safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and health standards.

Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and local regulations related to machine operation and material handling.

Maintain awareness of hazardous materials, sharp tools, and moving machinery to prevent accidents or injuries.
5. Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate records of daily production activities, including output, machine usage, defects, and maintenance logs.

Provide feedback to supervisors or CNC programmers regarding design or setup improvements.

Assist in updating work instructions or standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
