Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation
-
Set up and operate CNC machines such as mills, lathes, routers, or grinders.

Load raw materials (metal, plastic, etc.) and secure workpieces on the machine.

Monitor the machining process and make necessary adjustments to machine settings (e.g., speed, feed rate, cutting tools).
-
Perform minor machine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacement.
2. Program Interpretation and Setup
-
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining operations required.

Input CNC programs or load them from files created by programmers or CAD/CAM systems.

Align and calibrate machine parts to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met.
3. Quality Control and Inspection
-
Measure completed parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

Conduct first-piece inspection and in-process checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

Document inspection results and report non-conformities to supervisors or quality control.
4. Safety and Housekeeping
-
Follow all company and industry safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.

Report equipment malfunctions, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
5. Production Efficiency
-
Meet daily production goals by optimizing machine run times and minimizing downtime.

Suggest improvements to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve machining accuracy.

Work collaboratively with production supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
