Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator (Computer Numerical Control) to operate, monitor, and maintain CNC machines in a manufacturing or engineering environment. The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up machines, loading materials, running machining cycles, inspecting finished products, and ensuring the machines are functioning efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC equipment, a good understanding of machining processes, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards. This role is vital to achieving production targets and maintaining product accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operation

Set up and operate CNC machines (lathe, milling, turning, or grinding machines) according to job specifications and instructions.

Load raw materials such as metal, plastic, or composite blanks into the machine.

Adjust machine settings, such as cutting speed, feed rate, and depth of cut, to achieve desired results.

Run machining cycles and monitor machine activity to ensure smooth operation and consistent output.
2. Programming and Setup

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, CAD/CAM files, and work orders.

Load and verify G-code programs or input machine instructions manually as required.

Set machine tools and fixtures, and make necessary offsets and adjustments.

Collaborate with the programming team or engineers to resolve programming issues.
3. Quality Control and Inspection

Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools like micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height measuring devices.

Ensure that all parts meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards.

Perform in-process inspections and document results for quality assurance.

Identify defects or non-conformities and make necessary adjustments to the machine or process.
4. Maintenance and Safety

Conduct routine maintenance of machines such as cleaning, lubricating, and checking coolant levels.

Report mechanical or electrical malfunctions promptly to the maintenance team.

Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of production output, machine operation, and inspection results.

Fill out job cards, logs, and production reports as required by supervisors.

Assist in updating machine calibration and maintenance logs.
Technical Skills:
Understanding of CNC programming basics (G-code/M-code).
Familiarity with various machine tools and machining techniques.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
