CNC TURNING CENTER OPERATOR - TC – MINIMUM 1-2YRS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, 10TH TO ANY GRADUATE (25 PERSONNEL REQUIRED)

Position Overview
The CNC Turning Center Operator (TC Operator) is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes or turning centers to produce precision metal parts and components according to engineering drawings and quality specifications. This role involves machine setup, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting of turning operations on a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, and other alloys.
The ideal candidate must be technically skilled, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious, with experience in reading technical drawings, using precision measuring instruments, and understanding CNC programming basics. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards and production efficiency on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup and Operation

Set up CNC turning machines by installing tooling, setting work coordinates, and loading programs.

Load raw material (bars, billets, or castings) into chucks or collets securely.

Input and verify part programs into the CNC machine control (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, etc.).

Adjust cutting parameters such as feed, speed, depth of cut to optimize machine performance.

Perform dry run and first-off inspection to ensure parts meet specifications before production run.
2. Machining and Production

Operate CNC turning centers to produce parts as per the job order, design drawing, or process plan.

Monitor machine operation during production cycles for abnormal sounds, vibrations, or tool wear.

Replace worn or broken cutting tools and reset tool offsets as required.

Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish according to engineering drawings.

Run batch production efficiently while minimizing scrap, rework, and downtime.
3. Quality Control and Inspection

Inspect finished components using precision instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.

Record measurement results and maintain inspection logs for each production batch.

Identify deviations and inform the supervisor or quality team for corrective action.

Ensure adherence to ISO, ASME, or customer-specific quality standards.
4. Preventive Maintenance and Safety

Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks like lubrication, coolant level checks, and chip cleaning.

Report machine malfunctions, unusual wear, or tool breakage to maintenance or supervisory staff.

Ensure cleanliness and order in the work area, complying with 5S practices.

Follow all safety guidelines, wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and operate machinery in a safe manner.
5. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate production logs, shift reports, tool usage records, and inspection data.

Interpret machining route sheets, tool lists, and process instructions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements in machining processes.
