Job Overview

A CNC/VMC Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to produce precision parts. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Operation & Setup

Operate CNC/VMC machines to manufacture precision parts as per specifications.
Set up machines, load raw materials, and ensure proper tooling.
Adjust machine settings (speed, feed, depth) to optimize performance.

2. Programming & Troubleshooting

Read and interpret G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM programming.
Modify and adjust programs as needed for accuracy.
Identify and resolve machine errors, tool breakages, and alignment issues.

3. Quality Control & Inspection

Use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect finished parts.
Ensure products meet quality standards and tolerances.
Report defects and make necessary adjustments to maintain precision.

4. Machine Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and tool changes.
Keep machines clean and in good working condition.
Report mechanical issues to maintenance teams.

5. Safety & Compliance

Follow workplace safety protocols and guidelines.
Wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
Ensure compliance with company and industry regulations.
