Additional Info : Contact Individuals Or Businesses To Recover Overdue Payments And Resolve Disputes. Negotiate Repayment Terms That Align With Organizational Policies. Maintain Records Of Collections And Prepare Reports For Management.

Key Responsibilities
1. Contacting Debtors
-
Make outbound calls and send messages/emails to customers with overdue accounts.

Visit clients or customers (if field collections are part of the role) to recover pending payments.

Engage with individuals or businesses to discuss payment status and provide account information.
2. Payment Recovery and Negotiation
-
Inform customers about their outstanding balances and due dates.

Understand the reasons for delayed or missed payments and offer solutions.

Negotiate repayment plans that align with company policy and the customer’s financial situation.

Ensure agreements are documented and follow up on promises to pay.
3. Dispute Resolution
-
Address customer complaints or concerns related to billing or invoices.

Investigate disputes and work with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.

Maintain professionalism and diplomacy while handling difficult or distressed customers.
4. Recordkeeping and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate records of communication, promises to pay, and collection outcomes in the system (CRM or collection software).

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on recovery progress, outstanding dues, and resolved cases.

Keep management informed about high-risk accounts, non-responsive customers, or legal escalation needs.
5. Compliance and Ethics

Follow collection procedures in line with company policies and regulatory guidelines (e.g., RBI guidelines for NBFCs, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, etc.).

Avoid using rude, coercive, or unlawful practices.

Ensure customer privacy and data confidentiality at all times.
