Job Description

As a Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses who have outstanding debts to our company or clients. Your primary objective will be to negotiate payment arrangements and facilitate the repayment of these debts in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Contacting debtors via phone, email, and/or mail to discuss outstanding debts and negotiate payment terms.

Explaining the consequences of non-payment and providing options for resolving debts.

Developing and maintaining positive relationships with debtors to encourage cooperation and facilitate repayment.

Documenting all communication and interactions with debtors accurately and thoroughly in the company's systems.

Following up with debtors to ensure payment arrangements are being honored and addressing any issues or concerns they may have.

Collaborating with internal departments, such as legal and finance, to escalate cases when necessary and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Adhering to all relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Meeting individual and team targets for debt recovery and other performance metrics.

Continuously updating knowledge of collection techniques, industry trends, and best practices to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Providing feedback and suggestions for process improvements to management to enhance the overall collections process.
