Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Debt Recovery and Collection:
-
Contact defaulters and delinquent customers via phone calls, emails, text messages, or in-person visits to remind them of outstanding balances.

Negotiate repayment terms and encourage timely settlement of dues.
-
Generate daily call lists and prioritize high-value or high-risk accounts.
-
Follow a structured collection script and use persuasive but respectful communication strategies.
2. Documentation and Recordkeeping:
-
Maintain accurate records of all communications and actions taken on each account.
-
Update customer status and payment commitments in CRM or collection software.
-
Issue payment receipts and maintain logs of cash or cheque collections if field work is involved.

Report any payment discrepancies or customer disputes to the supervisor for resolution.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
-
Listen to customer concerns and offer practical solutions such as rescheduling EMIs or partial payments when necessary.
-
Provide clear information about penalties, interest, and consequences of non-payment.

Ensure all interactions maintain the company’s reputation and customer service standards.
4. Coordination with Internal Teams:
-
Work with the finance or billing team to reconcile accounts and confirm outstanding balances.

Liaise with legal or compliance departments in case of chronic defaulters or legal escalations.

Collaborate with team members to manage shared portfolios or group targets.
5. Reporting & Follow-ups:
-
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on collection activities and target achievements.

Escalate unresolved cases to higher management for further action.
-
Ensure follow-ups are conducted as per the agreed schedules and company policy.
