Job Overview
A Collection Agent is responsible for contacting customers with overdue payments, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to handle customer objections while maintaining a professional and customer-friendly approach.
Key Responsibilities
1. Debt Collection & Follow-ups
Make outbound calls and send reminders to customers regarding outstanding payments.
Follow up on overdue accounts through calls, emails, and messages.
Ensure timely collection of dues while maintaining customer relationships.
2. Customer Interaction & Negotiation
Communicate professionally with customers regarding their financial obligations.
Offer payment plans, settlements, or extensions as per company policies.
Persuade customers to make payments and resolve financial issues.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of interactions, payment commitments, and follow-ups.
Update customer account details in the collection database.
Generate daily/weekly collection reports for management.
4. Legal & Compliance Adherence
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and collection laws.
Handle sensitive customer data with confidentiality and professionalism.
Follow ethical debt collection practices to avoid disputes.
5. Dispute Resolution & Customer Support
Address customer concerns and provide solutions to avoid defaults.
Educate customers on repayment terms and company policies.
Work with legal and finance teams for complex recovery cases.
