Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze alerts generated by the sanctions screening system for potential matches to sanctioned entities or individuals across various jurisdictions.
Conduct due diligence and research to clear or escalate potential matches using internal and external databases.
Document findings and actions taken for each case in a clear and concise manner, ensuring a comprehensive audit trail.
Stay updated with changes in sanctions regulations and lists, understanding the implications for the screening process.
Collaborate with the compliance team and other stakeholders to enhance screening processes and procedures.
Provide feedback on potential system enhancements to improve screening efficiency and effectiveness.
Assist in preparing reports for management on sanctions screening activities and findings.
Participate in compliance projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a financial services or international trade environment.
Familiarity with international sanctions lists (e.g., OFAC, EU, UN) and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound judgments.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficient in the use of compliance databases and screening tools.
Proficiency in Adobe tools and MS office; demonstrably advanced computer and database technology skills required.
Demonstrably impeccable organization, writing and communication skills required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
