Job Description
Component Engineer - Hardware Engineer
- Provide recommendation on obsolete and sole source parts by understanding the component usage
- Knowledge in Electronic Components / Cost Analysis/ Electronic Component Datasheet study for Form Fit Function comparison
- Initiate best practices of obsolescence management and supply chain management
- Identify and approve new suppliers for sub-components
- Develop and standardize validation plan for sub-components
- Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed
- Maintains the Approved Parts List (APL) or (AML) Approved Manufacturer List for R&D
- Apply systematic problem-solving skills to define issues, identify root causes, develop, qualify, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner
- Can review schematic and recommend changes based on worst-case analysis
