Job Description
Job Summary
The Computer Hardware and Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, networking systems, surveillance systems (CCTV), servers, NAS devices, and other related IT infrastructure. This role involves field visits to client locations to provide AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) support and services. The position demands strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver prompt and professional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities

Hardware & Networking Support
-
Install, configure, and repair desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades on hardware components.

Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity issues.

Surveillance Systems (CCTV) Installation & Maintenance

Install and configure CCTV cameras, DVR/NVR systems.
-
Monitor, test, and maintain surveillance equipment for optimal performance.

Diagnose and fix issues related to video feeds, recording, and storage.

Server & Storage Management
-
Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux).
-
Set up and manage NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices.
-
Monitor server health, performance, and backups.
-

Field Service & AMC Support
-
Provide on-site technical support to clients under AMC agreements.
-
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits as per AMC terms.
-
Document service visits, issues resolved, and parts replaced.
-

Networking Setup & Troubleshooting

Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
-
Diagnose and fix network slowdowns, connectivity losses, and IP conflicts.

Ensure secure and stable network operations.

Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain records of all service calls, installations, and repairs.

Prepare daily/weekly activity reports and submit them to the supervisor.

Skills & Competencies Required
-
Strong knowledge of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
-
Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs).
-
Hands-on experience with CCTV installation and maintenance.
-
Knowledge of server administration and NAS storage configuration.
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.
-
Good communication skills for client interaction.
