Job Description
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP.
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security.
Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
Arranging scheduled upgrades.
Investigating faults in the network.
Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
Reporting network status to senior members.
Configuration of Routers & Switches, including hands-on configuration of CISCO switches.
Configure & Troubleshoot LAN related problems.
Good hands-on experience with LAN & WAN.
Configuration of L1, L2 switches & Routers.
Re-configure, rebuild network devices during crash recovery or configuration changes.
Monitor existing IOS and patches installed and manage minor IOS upgrades.
Configure and manage access lists.
Configure authentication protocols (like AAA) and user authentication through TACACS/RADIUS servers or locally.
Implement user access privileges.
Implement encrypted password management mechanisms on all supported devices.
Maintain and administer network elements and devices on the NMS.
Configure VLANs.
Implement VPN tunnels, if applicable, and provide VPN access following SOP.
Configure VLAN Trunking Protocol or Spanning Tree Protocol or both for a manageable switch if applicable.
Problem-solving capability in Cisco, Juniper, Security Devices, Citrix Netscaler, SDWAN, Ironport, Aruba Access Points and Controller.
Operational experience with network security (ACLs, VPN, L2VPN, IPSEC and GRE), BGP, OSPF, VLAN, WLAN.
Working on Core Switches/Routers, UTM Firewalls and other security devices.
Good troubleshooting and reporting/presentation skills.
Develop and maintain architecture diagrams and documents.
Experience in MPLS / QoS.
In-depth knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching, and basic knowledge of FortiGate and Palo Alto Firewall, Citrix Load Balancer, Aruba SD-WAN, and Aruba Wi-Fi.
