Job Description

Provide safe and effective anaesthesia for elective and emergency procedures.

Pre-operative assessment and optimization of patients.

Post-operative care and pain management.

Participate in the on-call rota for emergency and out-of-hours anaesthesia services.

Support and lead critical care when required (e.g., ICU/HDU).

Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient care pathways.

Supervise and teach anaesthetic trainees, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.

Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) and support colleagues in CPD activities.

Contribute to medical student education as required.

Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement projects, and departmental research.

Contribute to national audits and benchmarking programs.
-
Promote evidence-based practice within the department.

Attend and contribute to departmental and multidisciplinary meetings.
-
Participate in incident reviews, morbidity & mortality meetings, and risk assessments.

Engage in the development and implementation of departmental protocols and guidelines.
