Job Description
Provide high-quality consultations to OPD and IPD patients.
Diagnose and manage chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, respiratory and cardiac conditions.
Collaborate with cardiologists, urologists, intensivists, and other specialists for multidisciplinary care.
Conduct regular patient rounds and ensure optimal clinical care is delivered.
Interpret diagnostic reports (labs, ECG, imaging) and prescribe treatment accordingly.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records and prescriptions using EMR/EHR systems.
Guide junior doctors and medical officers in patient management.
Participate in health camps, awareness programs, and preventive health initiatives organized by the hospital.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, ethics, and NABH standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care

Examine and assess patients to diagnose internal medical conditions and recommend appropriate treatment plans.

Manage complex and chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular conditions, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, and infectious diseases.

Prescribe medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests as needed.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
2. Medical Leadership

Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in the management of cases.

Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Serve as a reference for complex diagnostic or therapeutic issues within the department.
3. Patient Communication and Counseling

Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, lifestyle changes, and preventive healthcare.

Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented appropriately.

Maintain empathy, confidentiality, and clear communication throughout the patient journey.
4. Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including case histories, progress notes, test results, and discharge summaries.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, medical ethics, and data protection laws.

Prepare case reports and contribute to clinical audits or medical research.
5. Emergency and On-Call Duties

Be available for on-call or emergency consultations as per hospital duty roster.

6. Continuing Education and Compliance

Stay updated on medical advancements, guidelines, and evidence-based practices through continuous professional development.
