1. Name of Post - Cook


Qualifications:  Pass in SSLC or Equivalent  Pass Certificate in one year craft course in Food Production from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala. OR Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of Kerala. OR  Pass in one year Diploma in Cookery/Food Production from Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Experience :  Minimum 2 years experience as Cook/Asst. Cook in a classified Hotel of Two star or above.
Age - 18-35
Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

2. Name of Post - Asst. Cook

Qualifications:  Pass in SSLC or Equivalent  Pass certificate in One year craft course in Food Production from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala. Experience :  1 year experience in a classified Hotel of 2 star or above as cook/chef/Asst. Chef/Commis.
Age - 18-35
Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

3. Name of Post - Kitchen Metty

Qualifications:  Pass in SSLC or Equivalent  Pass certificate in One year craft course in Food Production from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala. Experience :  1 year experience in a classified Hotel of 2 star or above as Asst. Chef/Commis.
Age - 18-35
Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

4. Name of Post - House Keeping Staff


Qualifications:  Pass in SSLC or Equivalent  Pass Certificate in one year craft course in Hotel Accommodation Operation from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala. OR  Pass in Diploma or P.G Diploma in Hotel Accommodation Operation Management course from IHMCT under Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Experience :  Minimum 6 months experience in House Keeping in a classified Hotel of Two star or above.

Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

5. Name of Post – Receptionist

Qualifications:  Pass in Pre-Degree/10+2 (Plus Two)  Pass Certificate in one year craft course in Front Office Operation from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala. Experience :  2 years experience as Front Office Asst./Receptionist in a Hotel of 2 star and above.
Age - 18-35
Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

6. Name of Post - Food & Beverage Staff

Qualifications: Pass in Pre-Degree/10+2 (Plus Two)  Pass Certificate in one year craft course in Food & Beverage Staff from Government Food Craft Institute, Kerala OR One year Diploma in Craft of Food & Beverage Service from any of the IHMCTs under Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. Experience : Minimum 2 years experience as Waiter/Butler/Captain in a Hotel of 2 star and above.

Mode of Appointment - Contract Basis for a maximum period of One year

Selection :
Selection will be made through the process of a Written Test/Practical/Interview of eligible candidates. The date and the venue of the Written Test/Practical/Interview will be intimated later.

About Company

The Food Craft Institute was founded by the  Government of India and the Government of Kerala, for the purpose of imparting training to promising young men and women in various trades of the Hotel and Tourism industry. The first Food Craft Institute in India was opened at Kalamasery in 1967. Since then Food Craft Institutes have been started in all the states, and in all major cities in India. In Kerala, Food Craft Institutes function in 12 cities and towns, the details of which are given below. This is with a view to building a strong skill based labour infrastructure for the Hotel and Tourism sector in the country, and for wiping out unemployment among the economically weaker sections. The Hotel and Tourism Industry has been identified as the main industry which can provide a good career path from entry level to top management posts to a vast majority of skilled Indians. It is for this purpose that the Government has subsidized all the course fees in this Institute for the benefit of the learning public and hence the fees charged is less than half that charged in similar Institutions.
