About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Prepare food for clients
2. Help devise new methods of cooking and new menu items
3. Streamline work from back of the house to front of house
4. Clean food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
5. Prepare foods to the specifications of the client
6. Prepare food before the arrival of guests
7. Make adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
8. Act as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
9. Order ingredients and spices as needed
10. Operate various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer
11. Portion, arrange and garnish food based on client preference
12. Assist other cooks during the food assembly process
13. Devise new recipes
14. Estimate expected food consumption and organize preparation
15. Keep records and accounts of food purchases
16. Order new menu items for specials or cheap deals
17. Prepare any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
18. Offer a creative menu to compete with other local restaurants
19. Clean up after business hours
20. Communicate with owner about how to improve meal service
21. Alter dishes based on consumer suggestions or requirements
