Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting and Analysis:

Accurately calculate product or project costs including direct materials, labor, and overhead.

Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, methods, and controls to track expenses and inventory.

Analyze cost variances by comparing actual costs with standard costs and investigate significant discrepancies.

Assist in pricing decisions by providing cost data and profitability analysis for products or services.

Prepare detailed cost reports and dashboards for management review.
Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

Monitor actual spending against budgets, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.

Support management in financial planning by providing cost-related projections and scenario analysis.

Collaborate with departments to gather data and ensure budget adherence.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
-
Prepare management accounting reports including profit and loss, balance sheet analysis, and cash flow forecasting.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and company policies.

Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits focused on cost accounting.

Maintain accurate and timely records to support audit trails.
Inventory and Asset Management:

Monitor inventory valuation and assist in stock audits.

Calculate inventory turnover ratios and recommend improvements in stock management.

Account for fixed assets and depreciation in cost structures.

Review procurement costs and suggest cost-saving opportunities.
Process Improvement and Cost Control:

Identify inefficiencies and areas of high cost, proposing process improvements to enhance profitability.

Collaborate with operations, production, and procurement teams to implement cost control measures.

Evaluate the financial impact of operational changes and new projects.

Use cost management techniques such as Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and Standard Costing.
