Counter Sales Executive
Job Description
A Counter Sales Executive is responsible for handling in-store sales, assisting customers at the counter, and ensuring a seamless purchasing experience. This role combines sales, customer service, and inventory management, making it a vital position in retail, FMCG, electronics, hardware, or other customer-facing businesses.
Counter Sales Executives act as the first point of contact for customers, offering product guidance, processing sales, and addressing inquiries. They contribute directly to revenue generation while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Assistance & Sales

Welcome and assist customers at the sales counter in a courteous and professional manner.

Understand customer requirements and suggest appropriate products or services.

Provide detailed information on products, pricing, offers, and promotions.

Ensure a smooth and efficient sales transaction process, including billing and payment collection.
2. Product Knowledge & Demonstration

Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, features, and benefits.

Demonstrate product usage and provide guidance on proper handling or installation when required.

Stay updated on new arrivals, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
3. Inventory & Stock Management

Monitor stock levels at the counter and in-store to ensure product availability.

Assist in stock replenishment and manage returns or exchanges efficiently.

Maintain cleanliness and organized display of products to enhance customer experience.
4. Payment & Transaction Handling
-
Process cash, card, and digital payments accurately.

Issue invoices, receipts, and maintain proper records of sales transactions.

Handle refunds, exchanges, and billing discrepancies professionally.
5. Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain good relationships with regular customers.

Gather customer feedback to improve service quality.

Address complaints or concerns promptly and escalate when necessary.
6. Reporting & Coordination

Maintain daily sales records and submit reports to the store manager.

Coordinate with the inventory and procurement teams for stock updates.

Participate in team meetings and provide suggestions for improving sales and customer experience.
7. Compliance & Safety

Adhere to store policies, safety procedures, and company guidelines.

Ensure cash handling and transaction processes are compliant with company standards.

Maintain hygiene, safety, and professionalism at the sales counter at all times.
