Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Pickup and Delivery
-
Collect parcels and consignments from the warehouse, office, or collection point based on assigned routes.

Deliver items to residential, commercial, or corporate customers in a timely and secure manner.

Obtain customer signatures or delivery confirmation through mobile apps or paperwork.

Handle both incoming (pickup) and outgoing (delivery) items according to company procedures.
2. Customer Interaction
-
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner during deliveries.

Confirm package details with recipients and ensure items are delivered in good condition.

Address minor customer concerns politely and report any issues or complaints to the supervisor.

Maintain a positive image of the company through neat appearance, politeness, and timely service.
3. Route Management
-
Plan daily delivery routes using GPS, maps, or route planning tools to maximize efficiency.

Follow the most time-efficient and cost-effective routes to complete deliveries within assigned deadlines.

Adapt to traffic conditions, road closures, or weather changes while ensuring on-time delivery.
4. Cash on Delivery (COD) and Payments
-
Collect payment for items marked as Cash on Delivery (COD) and provide accurate change when required.

Record transactions in delivery apps or logbooks and reconcile collected payments at the end of the day.

Handle all financial transactions with care and accountability.
5. Parcel Handling and Safety
-
Ensure that all parcels are handled with care and are not damaged during transit.

Load and unload items safely onto delivery vehicle (bike, scooter, or van).

Report damaged, lost, or undeliverable items to the logistics or dispatch team promptly.

Follow safety protocols while riding or driving, especially with fragile, perishable, or high-value items.
6. Record Keeping and Reporting
-
Update delivery status using mobile apps, handheld scanners, or manual delivery logs.

Maintain accurate records of delivery attempts, completed deliveries, and customer interactions.

Report any failed deliveries, customer issues, or route changes to the supervisor.

Complete end-of-day delivery reports and hand over all cash, receipts, and undelivered items to the designated personnel.
7. Vehicle Maintenance
-
Conduct routine checks on the assigned delivery vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and safe.

Refuel, clean, and maintain the vehicle as needed or report technical issues to the fleet team.
-
Ensure the use of protective gear such as helmets, gloves, and reflective jackets for safety.
