General Purpose:

You will deliver our Creative Computing instructional program – helping students to understand the fundamentals that drive interactive technologies, including teaching kids to make games using visual tools, maker skills and so much more in a fun learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their creative potential.
Most of the 75-minute session offers kids coding opportunities in using iPads and iMacs. Kids learn through fun unplugged activities as well as building open-ended projects and games.
Please note that to teach this course one does not require any prior Computer Programming or Computer Science knowledge or experience.
Our detailed curriculum provides a complete set of lesson plans that include inquiry-based activities, videos, assessment support, and educational tools. And a short training program supports teachers with diverse teaching backgrounds as they prepare to teach our courses.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Teach through play!
Game Making and Maker Projects
Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
Prepare classroom for class activities
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment using relevant technology to support instruction e.g. Ipads, Laptops etc.
Observe, evaluate and monitor student’s performance and development of individual students
Provide positive & helpful feedback on work
Prepare required reports on students and activities
Participate in our training and curriculum development
Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Relevant teaching experience in Science, Math, Engineering, Technology/ Computers or Creative fields
Knowledge/ Ability to use relevant technology – Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, etc.

Key Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of relevant teaching work experience
Strong communication skills
Must enjoy working with kids and enthusiastically engage the students.
Adaptive to unique learning styles and changes
Desire to gain mastery of new concepts and unfamiliar technology
Proficiency in programming languages or child-friendly programming platforms such as Scratch a plus, not a requirement
