A **CT Scan Technician** (also known as a CT Technologist or Computed Tomography Technician) is responsible for performing CT (Computed Tomography) scans to assist doctors in diagnosing diseases and injuries. They operate imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain accurate records.
#**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Patient Preparation:**
* Explain CT procedures to patients and answer their questions.
* Position patients correctly on the scanning table.
* Administer contrast agents if required (under guidance).
* Ensure patients remove all metallic items before scanning.
2. **Operating CT Equipment:**
* Set up and operate CT scan machines.
* Select appropriate scanning protocols based on the doctor’s prescription.
* Monitor patients during the procedure to ensure comfort and safety.
3. **Image Acquisition & Quality Control:**
* Capture high-quality diagnostic images.
* Check image clarity and quality before sending to radiologists.
* Adjust equipment settings for optimal results.
4. **Collaboration with Radiologists & Physicians:**
* Work closely with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging.
* Assist doctors in interpreting the scan results when necessary.
5. **Safety & Compliance:**
* Follow all radiation safety procedures and protection protocols.
* Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of CT machines.
* Comply with all hospital, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
6. **Documentation & Record Keeping:**
* Maintain patient records and image logs.
* Update reports and scanning data in the hospital system.
7. **Emergency Response:**
* Be prepared to handle adverse reactions to contrast agents.
* Know basic life support and emergency medical procedures.

* Diploma / Degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging Technology
* Specialized Certification in CT Scan (preferred)
