Cultural Quota of Hindustani Classical Singer (Male/Female) vacancies in Central Railway For The Year 2016-17

Qualification : Passed 10 +2 examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate from a recognised Board, affiliated to COBSE/India or its equivalent. 50% marks are not required for SC/ST/Exservicemen or where the candidates possess higher qualification i.e. Graduation/Post Graduation etc from a Recognised University.
Essential : Diploma/Degree/Post Graduation in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music only from recognized University or equivalent approved Board or Institutions such as Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Bhatkhande Music School / Prayag Sangeet Vidyalaya
Desirable : 1) All India Radio Grade Certificate in Classical / Light vocal (B,B High, A and higher) 2) Three years experience in Hindustani Classical & Light Vocal preferably in Doordarshan/All India Radio/Reputed Musical Group (i.e. the Group which has performed at various platforms with Artist/ Artists of National Calibre or a Group consisting of Artists, who have either performed in All India Radio/Television/Television & Film Industry)/Television channels with necessary documentary proof. 3) Certificate in Individual Award Winning performance in Hindustani Classical and Light Vocal at State/National level Competition/ Performances.
Pay Band : Rs. 5200-20200 plus Grade Pay Rs. 2000/1900/-
Age : 18 to 29 yrs
Examination Fee :
(i) For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (ii) below : Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only)
(ii) For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/Ex-Servicemen/ Persons with Disability/Women/Minorities* and Economically Backward Class : Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision for refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appear in the Written Test. Candidates in this category should check their eligibility thoroughly before applying. Fee in respect of candidates who are ineligible, but still apply, shall not be refunded.
Recruitment Process :
The recruitment will be based on the Written Test, followed by a Practical Demonstration. The eligible candidates will be called for Written Test and those who qualify in the Written Test will be called for Practical Demonstration. The candidates, who are found eligible in all respects, will be considered on the following basis.
Written Test consisting of Objective Type Questions (Minimum 40% marks are required for qualifying for Practical Demonstration). Questions will be objective multiple choice types, based on General Awareness, Mathematics, Mental Ability & Music Related Subject. There will be negative marking in the test and 1/3rd of the marks allotted for the question will be deducted for every wrong answer. Written test will be conducted on OMR sheet. – 50 Marks
Talent Test in the relevant field with Practical Demonstration - 35 Marks
Confirmation of Talent by Testimonials/Certificates/Awards -15 Marks
Total : 100 Marks
