Job Description

The role of a Customer Support Intern is designed to introduce young professionals to the fundamentals of client servicing, problem-solving, and effective communication in a professional environment. This position offers hands-on exposure to handling customer queries, assisting support teams, and learning the processes that ensure smooth customer interactions.

Customer support is one of the most crucial functions of any organization, as it directly represents the company’s commitment to client satisfaction. As an intern in this department, you will gain valuable experience in handling real-world customer issues, improving customer experiences, and supporting business growth. This role acts as a stepping stone for future careers in customer service, operations, account management, or client relations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Customer Interaction

    • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, live chat, or ticketing systems.

    • Assist in resolving basic queries and escalating complex issues to senior support executives.

    • Maintain a polite, empathetic, and professional tone while communicating.

  2. Support Team Assistance

    • Work closely with experienced support staff to understand workflows.

    • Help with monitoring incoming support requests and assigning them to the appropriate team.

    • Shadow senior executives during customer calls to learn resolution techniques.

  3. Issue Tracking & Documentation

    • Log customer issues into CRM or ticketing software.

    • Update records with accurate details of customer interactions.

    • Prepare summary reports on recurring queries or complaints.

  4. Product & Process Familiarization

    • Learn about the company’s products, services, and policies.

    • Understand service-level agreements (SLAs) and escalation procedures.

    • Assist in drafting FAQs, knowledge-base articles, and support documentation.

  5. Feedback & Follow-up

    • Collect feedback from customers regarding their experience.

    • Support follow-up communication to ensure customer concerns are fully resolved.

    • Provide suggestions to the team for improving service quality.

  • Education: Currently pursuing a diploma, undergraduate, or postgraduate program in any stream (Business, Commerce, IT, or related fields preferred).

  • Eligibility: Open to freshers and students seeking industry experience.

  • Preferred Skills: Basic computer knowledge, communication skills, and eagerness to learn.
