Post: Cutter cum Welder
Number of vacancies: 2
Qualification: ITI (Welder / Fitter)
Experience: 4 to 8 years
Salary: Rupees 16000/- per Months
In the iron sponge industry, a cutter cum welder's job involves both cutting and welding metal components, primarily for the fabrication and repair of equipment and machinery used in the sponge iron production process. This includes tasks like joining metal parts, repairing equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Cutting: Using various cutting tools (e.g., torch, saw, abrasive cutter) to prepare metal for welding or to repair damaged parts.
Welding: Joining metal components using different welding techniques (e.g., arc welding, gas welding) based on the specific materials and requirements of the project.
Repair and Fabrication: Repairing or fabricating metal structures and equipment used in the sponge iron plant, such as rotary kilns, chutes, and other machinery.
Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications and ensure accuracy.
Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and troubleshooting welding and cutting equipment.
Quality Control: Checking welds for quality and ensuring they meet established standards.
Material Handling: Sourcing and handling materials for welding and cutting tasks.
Specific Tasks in the Iron Sponge Industry:
Sponge Iron Handling:
Welding and cutting components used in the handling and transport of sponge iron, such as chutes, conveyors, and storage bins.
Rotary Kiln Maintenance:
Welding and cutting repairs on rotary kilns, including refractory lining and other critical components.
Equipment Fabrication:
Fabricating new equipment or modifying existing machinery for the sponge iron process.
Pipework and Ductwork:
Welding and cutting pipes and ducts used for transporting gases and other materials in the plant.
