Job Description
Designation: Data Analyst
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in any quantitative field OR 1-5 years of relevant business experience
- Strong problem-solving skills for implementing complex solutions
- Proficiency in Excel including formulas and data manipulation.
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language, Python will be preferred.
- Passion for research, analysis, and attention to detail
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making, communication, and business acumen skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with diverse responsibilities
- Self-motivated, high-energy, and able to work independently while remaining productive.
Key contributions
- Use GIS knowledge to gather and update mapping data
- Continuously improve processes and develop skills for greater efficiency and effectiveness
- Work with OSM data models and large datasets
- Develop automated tools and improve data pipelines
- Conduct web research for mapping projects
- Utilize mapping services such as Google Maps, HERE Maps, OSM, and TomTom.
Skills that would accelerate your contribution
- SQL and database experience
- Understanding of AWS and ETL frameworks (e.g. Prefect, Apache Airflow)
- Proficiency with GIS software (e.g. QGIS)
- Experience working with various spatial datasets (e.g. road networks, land use, points of interest, elevation/terrain, multi-source imagery)
- Deep geographic knowledge, including familiarity with cartographic conventions
- Proficiency with at least one ETL framework and software development lifecycles
- Intermediate Python proficiency with relevant libraries (e.g. shapely, pandas, selenium) for data analysis, process automation, and spatial analysis
- Familiarity with image processing and analysis
- Familiarity with ML applications and neural networks (a plus)
