Position Overview
A Data Analyst plays a critical role in interpreting data and turning it into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. The role involves collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets using statistical tools and data visualization techniques. The analyst works with various departments to support data-driven decisions that improve performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data manipulation tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms. A Data Analyst must also be able to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and work cross-functionally with business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities

Data Collection and Cleaning

Gather data from internal databases, APIs, surveys, or third-party sources.

Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues and anomalies.

Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform business decisions.

Create regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards to track KPIs and metrics.

Work with teams across marketing, finance, operations, or product to understand their data needs.

Statistical Analysis and Modelling

Use statistical techniques such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and clustering to uncover business insights.

Support predictive modeling and data mining projects under the guidance of senior analysts or data scientists.

Data Visualization

Design and develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.

Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, concise, and visually compelling way.

Present data stories and recommendations to management or business stakeholders.

Collaboration and Consultation

Partner with different departments to gather requirements, understand business processes, and recommend data solutions.

Translate business needs into technical specifications for reporting or dashboard projects.

Support project teams with data extraction, visualization, and analysis needs.

Database and Query Management

Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.

Work with IT or data engineering teams to ensure access to the right data sources.

Maintain data dictionaries and metadata documentation for future reference.

Automation and Efficiency

Automate routine reporting and analysis processes using scripts or workflow tools (e.g., Python, R, Excel macros).

Identify opportunities to streamline data pipelines and improve analysis turnaround time.

Ensure data is handled in compliance with company policies, security protocols, and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).
